Capturing a Company's Culture Through Video
Promotional video for architects in Sheffield
Race Cottam are a leading architectural practice, with headquarters in Sheffield. We were approached by them to develop a fun promotional video that mixed the traditional and modern approaches to architecture - whilst showcasing their services in a creative way.
We were to work closely with Race Cottam, discussing and evolving ideas cooperatively to make sure we fit their brief to their liking, keeping the client informed every step of the way. We wanted to break the stereotype of a dull, monotonous office and showcase a splash of colour and humour whilst also creating awareness of Race Cottam and the services they offer.
Filmed in just half a day at their Sheffield office, the result was a short, impactful video that involved all the members of the company. We wanted the film to be snappy and engaging, with the use of simple yet effective word boards and speedily flowing snippets of footage, featuring Race Cottam's employees in their workspace.
We also tried to inject an element of playfulness with boards such as 'singers' and 'Photoshop wizards', as well as 'architects' on an abundance of descriptive boards held by the employees, giving the audience more of an idea of what the company employees represent – some silly, and others in a more serious manner.
We also highlighted a few of the processes within the office – some of the main tasks Race Cottam's employees work on day to day, showing the staff members looking relaxed and content in their workplace. Race Cottam were pleased with the outcome of the video - the footage acts as a great promotional tool, and really brings a human face to the company.
