Centenary brochure commissioned to celebrate 100 years of leading Sheffield steel manufacturer
Progress Rail, a Caterpillar company, is the UK’s largest manufacturer of permanent way infrastructure. Their products are in use in over 100 countries globally.
We were approached to design and print Progress Rail’s Centenary celebration brochure. This project included the supply of new photography of the Progress Rail site, to be featured in the brochure’s design, as well as proofreading of the included content.

The client wanted something that would be a bit different, and so it was decided to go with a non-standard size for the finished brochure. We also recommended a special finish for the cover to mark the special occasion.
After gathering a detailed brief from the client, we collated the content and imagery we were provided with, identified the required images needed for the 2019 site and sent one of our photographers out to take the photos that would complete the new printed brochure.
Care was taken to ensure that the brochure – although requiring a distinctive look and feel – should also complement Progress Rail’s existing marketing materials, including its website. We included a double-page spread timeline featuring interesting photos from the company’s past. Our internal copywriters then worked with the provided content to ensure that it was primped and perfect for this special brochure.
The client was delighted with the brochure. It was handed out to attendees of the Centenary celebrations open day, as part of a marketing pack, to raise awareness and stand as a brief history of the company.
