ProDental CPD
E-Learning Platform Design & Development

The Brief

When ProDental approached us, it was with an existing platform that had failed to keep up with the growth of the company and developments in technology.

Our brief was to start from scratch - to improve the overall experience for users of the Pro Dental CPD system, streamline systems and processes, and allow for expansion into other markets.  The system would also need to be able to manage increasing volumes of users as the platform becomes more widely used.

Requirements

It was a crucial requirement that the website would be fully optimised for mobile and tablet devices, making it as easy and intuitive as possible for mobile users to navigate around the website and find the course that they are looking for.

Pro Dental CPD required a bespoke system that would enable each user of the website to have their own account login, allowing them to securely purchase, access and manage the Pro Dental CPD courses relevant to their job role.

What we did

The website is designed to be user-friendly, with particular attention paid to user experience. Courses can be registered for, and completed with ease, allowing the user to complete their purchasing journey with minimal effort.

Admin can create reports within the CMS based on each user and their engagement. This helps Pro Dental CPD to understand user habits and trends, as well as providing useful information to support ongoing marketing efforts. If a registered user hasn't accessed their account in a while, admin can track this through the CMS and then reach out to these users to encourage re-engagement.

On the previous website, users were signing up but not completing their Personal Development Plan (PDP). To prevent this from happening on the new system that we developed, completing a PDP is now a mandatory step required when a new user first signs up.

Excellent! Consistently went the extra mile.

Results

Due to greater attention being paid to user experience, engagement has improved, with the average user now visiting 34% more pages per session, in comparison with user activity data gathered from the previous site in September 2014. Admin now no longer need to complete previously time-consuming tasks, such as chasing up users to complete their PDP, as the new system doesn’t allow a user to go to the next stage of registration if this step hasn't been completed.

By using the built-in report functionality in the CMS, admin can run reports on users' activity and course performance. If a user is under-performing or failing their CPD questions, admin can send the report to the managers of the practices paying for the CPD courses for their staff. This ensures that both staff and practice managers are given the tools they need to monitor performance, and to quickly address any additional support required.
