  1. How did you get here?

“Before joining Hydra, I was a Front-end Developer working in Lincoln for a Digital Agency. I initially started my career as an apprentice after finding a passion for the forms of Digital Art at college. I gained experience in Graphic Design, Video Production, Web Design and Development during my studies, but aimed primarily for a career in Web development. Since becoming a Front-end Web Developer I have not looked back. I enjoy every day learning new skills and every project is always different, which keeps things interesting! I have also been very lucky to work with some large brands over the past 3 years.”

  1. What is your role here?

“My role at Hydra is a Front-end Web Developer. I work very closely with the other developers and the designers in the office. My job is to make the designs come to life, so it is important to work with the designers to fully understand every aspect of the designs. My role can also be very rewarding, especially after making huge improvements on a client’s site and being able to see their brand grow.”

  1. Favourite thing about working at Hydra?

“My favourite thing about working at Hydra would be the office environment. Everyone is so friendly, and I have felt very supported and welcome from the day I started. Since starting my role here I have learned so much already and I love how every working day is different. We also have an office dog too which is always a bonus.”

  1. What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

“I love going on adventures, especially finding new places. I am very lucky to live in the countryside as I am surrounded by lovely places to walk and cycle. I also love documenting where I have been, so I have a travel Instagram to post pictures of my travels - it is basically an online photo album.”

  1. What is your proudest achievement?

“Over the last 12 years I have been actively involved with Girlguiding both as a guide and in leadership roles. In 2018 I completed my full Adult Leadership Certification, so I have been involved with planning camps, running the Unit and organising activities in my free time. We have been having virtual meetings through lockdown too, which we have had to organise and broadcast on Facebook live.”

  1. Favourite snack?

“For my fave snack I would have to say a Kinder Bueno, although I have found a new love for Biscoff so anything Biscoff related is a win too.”
