In the spotlight: Many Heads of Hydra- Beth
Today for your ‘Many heads of Hydra’ feature, we will be talking to Beth, who is one of our Account Executive’s.
1. How did you get here?
“Before coming to Hydra, I was in my final year at university studying Marketing Communications & Advertising. During my studies, I did a placement year at a marketing agency in Leeds. I initially started at Hydra as part of the Sheffield Hallam virtual Internship during lockdown after which, I was offered a job as an Account Exec (obviously did something right) full time!”
2.What is your role here?
“As an account executive, I get to work on various client accounts and with all the different departments. My work consists of project managing client work, communicating with clients and being the main point of contact during their time with Hydra. As well as this I support internal marketing efforts, having managed a couple of projects so far including the Referral Scheme, written articles and recently started to help manage the social media channels.”
3.Favourite thing about working at Hydra?
“I love the office and work environment. Even since the first week of my internship I’ve learnt so much so quickly and felt like I’ve been properly supported in my role and development. I enjoy coming to work and feel like every day is different in terms of what I’m working on, it’s really varied and keeps me interested!”
4.What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
“Hmmm, I love walking. I just enjoy getting out and about, travelling where possible. Obviously, that hasn’t been as possible this year, so I’ve mostly been walking in the Peaks, around Sheffield or the Dales at home. I like to keep fit so I work out regularly, spend time with my friends, love food, cooking and eating. Oh, and I’ve just grown some tomatoes on my balcony…”
5.What is your proudest achievement?
“I worked with a team of my friends to build a toilet block for a school and orphanage in Kerala, India a few years ago, that was really rewarding, and I’d like to do more things like that. As well as that, probably finishing my degree and getting my internship and full-time job at Hydra during these unusual times.”
“Crisps. None in particular, just all types of crisps. Crisps and dips.”
