Five chrome extensions you should be using

As marketers, we wear many hats. We juggle daily tasks and when another comes along, we add it to the list (the same list we never seem to get to the bottom of!). So, just like you we appreciate it when something comes along that helps us manage those tasks. In this article, we are going to discuss five chrome extensions that as a marketer, you should be using.

We chose Chrome for this article due to it currently having 63.9% of the browser market share worldwide (as of June 2020).

  • Todoist
  • Grammarly
  • MOZbar
  • Linkclump
  • LastPass

Todoist

Todoist is an all in one organising tool for your projects. It allows you to collaborate, send messages and set tasks with any colleagues who also use it. It also doesn’t just come as a browser extension, but it can also be used as an app, allowing you to tick off your list whilst on the move. One of the main features we love is the productivity visualisation, which shows your daily and monthly progress in a simple colour-coded graph.

Grammarly

Whether you are writing copy for your website or your social media platforms, it is crucial that your spelling and grammar are perfect. This is where Grammarly comes in. Install the extension and suggestions will begin to appear whilst you are writing in a text box in your browser. According to their Chrome Extension page, “Grammarly for Chrome is compatible with the text fields on most websites, including Gmail, Google Docs, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Wordpress, and millions of others.” Making it easier for us to get our spelling and grammar 100%.

MOZbar

MozBar is an all-in-one research tool from SEO giant Moz. It works by pulling metrics directly from websites and displaying them in the toolbar once you land on the webpage. Data such as the Domain and Page Authority of a website, external and internal link metrics and the ability to view page elements such as on-page optimisation, schema markup and Open Graph protocols. It is a major tool for any marketer, especially ones specialising in digital.

Linkclump

If when you are researching a topic for an article or a piece of website content you visit a variation of websites, Linkclump is for you. It allows you to go to the search engine and drag a box around all of the URLs you want to open and opens them all in new tabs for you. This makes it quicker and easier than ever to pick and choose which pieces of research are right for your topic as it also allows you to quickly bookmark in bulk.

LastPass

As if there isn’t enough to remember on a regular basis as a marketer, we then have to remember all of our different passwords for Google Analytics, Social Media platforms and our email marketing software. This is where LastPass comes in, it securely stores all of your passwords and syncs them to your account, allowing you to log in via any device and retrieve your passwords quickly and easily.
There are so many Chrome extensions out there which help make our lives easier and more efficient. If we haven’t covered your favourite extension, we’d love to hear from you. If as a marketer, you do find yourself struggling with your workload, please do get in touch as we can work alongside you to support your role and your business.
