At Hydra, regardless of sector, size, or scope, we encourage our clients to take part in a discovery consultation before starting a project. We regularly receive questions on what a discovery consultation is and what the benefits are.

What is a discovery consultation?

A discovery consultation is more than just a meeting; it’s an exploration between Hydra and our clients. Together, we work to explore and identify what your company needs to achieve your desired results. Throughout the session, it will become clear what you need in order to meet your goals.

Each client’s discovery session is distinct and personalised. These sessions typically range from 2 to 4 hours. However, this may change based on factors such as whether we have previously worked together and the scale of your project. Although we may already be well acquainted with your brand, we believe discovery consultations are a valuable step that should be taken before moving forward with any potential ideas.

 

What should you expect from a discovery consultation?

Discoveries will typically include a range of questions from us, to help generate ideas and enhance project-based discussions. These vary from open-ended questions about your brand values to more technical questions about the finer details of your project.   

These are an open space to express all and any ideas that both your team and ours may have. There is no formal structure or plan for discovery sessions, as the goal is to have genuine and free-flowing discussions.

Our team will use their expertise and any prior knowledge they have of your project to support your goals during the discovery, and by the end of the discussion, we will have a proposed strategy we can confidently proceed with. It is important to stress, however, that there is no pressure to have finalised a solution by the end of this meeting – our team will continue to support you throughout the project and are happy to answer any concerns you may have after the meeting.

Why do we encourage our clients to have a discovery consultation?
