How our team at really know it’s Christmas time

How our team knows it’s Christmas time:

When we asked our team what makes it officially Christmas for them, we got a lot of different responses! Sharon, our Accounts and Office Manager, says Christmas starts when she gets out her reindeer decoration and when Christmas songs start playing on the radio.

Although when to put your Christmas decorations up is a heavily debated topic, we can all agree that hearing the classic Christmas songs at least makes us feel a bit festive!  Gemma, Owner and Client Services Director, also went with the Christmas song theme, saying she feels like its Christmas when she hears the first few bars of that Mariah Carey song… we all know which one she is talking about! That song also appears in Love Actually, which our Head of Design Lauren watches every year at the end of November to start the festive season!

Our Digital Marketing Executive Megan also mentioned decorations, in particular her annual fight with the office decorations at the end of November! She also mentioned her scheduled switch from coffee to hot chocolate at work!  We can all admit that we look out for the release of Christmas drinks at our favourite coffee shops each year!

Eloise, part of our web development team, mentioned that the appearance of videos of cats vs Christmas trees on social media is when it’s officially Christmas! Speaking of pets, we can’t forget to include what Chief Motivational Officer, Treacle, thinks about Christmas season cues. In our recent social media post, Treacle showed off her brand new Christmas-themed harness!

Treacle has been in the Christmas mood since the middle of November and has shown us all it’s never too early to feel festive! Wearing your favourite Christmas-themed item is the best way to start to the season off right in Treacle’s opinion!

Now we have spoken about what makes it Christmas here at Hydra, let’s discuss the importance of seasonal cues for businesses in the festive period.
