The Challenge

The previous website had become limiting both in terms of functionality and user experience. It no longer aligned with the consultancy’s evolving brand or business model and made day-to-day management of services like the Tender Tracker unnecessarily time-consuming. Content updates, email campaigns, and tracking performance were all areas in need of improvement.

Carley Consult a part of Bespoke Bids Group needed more than a new look, they required a strategic rebuild of their site architecture, a content management system (CMS) tailored to how their team works, and meaningful integrations to support ongoing lead generation and client engagement. It was also important that new members of staff could be quickly onboarded and trained to manage and interpret the website's backend and performance data with confidence.

What We Did

We began with an in-depth discovery session to fully understand the consultancy’s internal processes, target audiences, and service structure. This formed the basis for a new website strategy centred around user-friendly navigation, clear service communication, and lead capture.

Our team developed a site map and page structure that supports a seamless journey for prospective clients. Every page was designed with readability and user intent in mind, with consistent calls to action guiding users toward key actions such as registering for the Tender Tracker or requesting a consultation. The content structure followed a clear ‘who, what, why, and how’ model to ensure every visitor could easily find what they were looking for.

To position Carley Consult a part of Bespoke Bids Group as a trusted authority in their field, we built in a dynamic Latest News and Insights area. This makes it easy for their team to publish and categorise thought leadership articles, event updates, and bid advice, all of which contribute to the consultancy’s expert positioning.

A key part of the site’s functionality was the redevelopment of the Tender Tracker system. We streamlined the bid management process through a bespoke CMS with different user levels, allowing team members to upload and manage content efficiently. The addition of a bulk upload feature removed the need for duplicate data entry across multiple spreadsheets, automating the classification of live, new, and archived tenders.

We also introduced a tool to output the latest tender data in HTML format, enabling the team to easily generate email alerts and paste the code directly into their Mailchimp platform, a major time-saver that helps ensure accuracy and consistency in client communications.

As part of the site's ongoing development, we also introduced gated content areas, where users are encouraged to sign up in exchange for access to premium resources and insights. This has supported increased email list growth and helped nurture more qualified leads through the site.

To ensure the team could confidently manage the new website and make the most of its capabilities, we delivered training sessions for new staff on using the CMS, navigating Google Analytics 4, and interpreting behavioural data through Microsoft Clarity. These sessions focused on helping the team understand how users are interacting with the site, where drop-offs may occur, and how to respond with practical improvements.

The site was built mobile-first and optimised for performance across all devices and browsers, ensuring accessibility and ease of use for clients accessing from anywhere. All technical decisions were geared toward flexibility, scalability, and long-term ease of use for both users and administrators.

The Result

The new website has brought significant improvements to how Bespoke Bids Consultancy Ltd manages and delivers its services online. Internally, the bespoke CMS and automation tools have saved the team time and reduced the chance of error, especially when managing the Tender Tracker and preparing client communications.

Externally, users now benefit from a smoother, clearer, and more informative experience with thoughtful page layouts, strong visual hierarchy, and clear next steps. The inclusion of further gated content has successfully increased email sign-ups and allowed the business to build stronger relationships with prospective clients.

Staff training has empowered new team members to confidently manage both the site’s content and its performance data, giving them the tools to continuously optimise the platform based on real user behaviour.

The collaboration with Bespoke Bids Consultancy Ltd continues, with the platform evolving alongside their business needs. With a strong, flexible foundation now in place, the consultancy is better positioned to grow, engage new sectors, and maintain its reputation as a leading voice in bid writing and public sector procurement.
