As proud members of the Paces 300 Club, we explore what the 2025 Paces’ Christmas Jumper Day is all about, why seasonal campaigns matter, and how charities can boost engagement and awareness through thoughtful marketing.

Who are Paces?

Paces is a leading specialist centre for children with Cerebral Palsy and other motor-related conditions. With an ever-growing reputation for excellence in Conductive Education, they take a comprehensive approach that helps children and young people develop the skills they need to thrive.

Paces began in the 1990s, founded by parents who recognised the benefits of Conductive Education on their children with Cerebral Palsy. Today, Paces continues to grow its reputation and its reach, supporting families across the region with compassion and expertise.

What is Paces’ Christmas Jumper Day?

For 2025, Paces are (once again) hosting their own Christmas Jumper Day as part of a wider campaign throughout 2025 to raise funds for a brand-new inclusive playground. This accessible play space is designed to enable children of all abilities to play, interact, and enjoy their childhoods together.

By organising a local version of the national Christmas Jumper Day, Paces brings festive fun to the community while raising funds for an important cause. Participants simply wear their favourite Christmas jumpers and donate what they can.

Supporting Paces helps:

  • Fund a new inclusive playground – Creating an accessible play area where every child, regardless of ability, can join in.
  • Support Paces’ wider mission – Every donation contributes to Paces’ vital work with children who have neurological conditions such as Cerebral Palsy.
  • Engage the local community – It’s a cheerful, easy way to come together, celebrate the season, and raise money for a meaningful cause.

How to join in

Getting involved is simple, fun, and can make a real difference:

  1. Wear your favourite Christmas jumper on Friday the 12th of December
  2. Donate what you can to the Inclusive Playground Appeal
  3. Share your festive jumper photos on social media and tag Paces to spread the cheer even further.

The importance of seasonal marketing campaigns for charities

Seasonal marketing campaigns are vital for charities because they provide significant impact, such as:

  • Enhanced Engagement – Seasonal campaigns are a way for charities to connect with supporters. By tailoring messaging to align with seasonal themes, charities can foster stronger, long-term relationships with their audience, which can ultimately lead to one-off donors becoming loyal supporters.
  • Increased Brand Awareness – During seasonal periods, charities have opportunities to reach wider audiences who may not encounter their work at other times of the year. Effective marketing capitalises on heightened public attention and spreads the organisation’s message far beyond its existing base.
  • Opportunities for Creativity – Seasonal campaigns allow charities to move away from routine messaging and explore fresh and engaging content. Creative campaigns typically generate more engagement and shareability, extending their reach organically.
  • Education – Seasonal campaigns provide a platform to inform the public about key issues, they highlight the impact of the charity’s work, and they can educate new supporters about the charity’s mission.
  • Normalising Discussion – Campaigns can normalise conversations around topics people often avoid, helping remove stigma and making these discussions a more regular part of everyday life.
  • Building Community – Seasonal campaigns like Paces can create a sense of shared purpose among participants who share experiences, celebrate milestones, and support one another’s fundraising efforts. This collective involvement not only amplifies the campaign’s message but also strengthens the community surrounding the charity.
  • Visibility Online – Fun campaigns that are easy to get involved with and create imagery for look great on social media, and are easy to share, increasing the charity’s reach and overall awareness. Sharing previous years’ imagery encourages take up for the current year, and generates a buzz as people get to do something “fun” whilst raising money for a charity, which makes them feel good and is in keeping with the general festive spirit at this time of year.
