The Challenge
mua had outgrown their existing website and were looking for something that would provide the support their clients and customers needed. They were keen to introduce new functionality to offer best-in-class customer service, establishing their position as an industry leader.
For mua, it was crucial that their new site did not prioritise style over substance. Although the new site needed modernising, the site’s accessibility and functionality remained the top priority.
With a wide range of user groups, including residents, businesses, ICPs, and job seekers, the site needed to work for everyone.
What We Did
Kicking the project off with a discovery session made up of mua stakeholders and Hydra’s project management, design and development team, we established exactly what they were looking to achieve. During this session, we were also able to determine key project deadlines.
Key priorities included:
- Create a modern, user-friendly, bespoke website design
- Develop intuitive tools, allowing site visitors to self-serve
- Adhere to mua’s brand guidelines
- An easy-to-use CMS, with multiple user levels tailored to internal requirements
After the discovery session, we held a series of collaborative meetings with our design and development teams, during which we brought key new tools to life, including a network status-tracking tool.
Content from mua’s legacy site was migrated, with dedicated pages created for new content to support their diverse user groups.
It was agreed that WordPress would be utilised for its future-proofing capabilities and user-friendly CMS.
The Result
With accessibility at the heart of the design, the new site provides easy access to emergency contact details and clearly signposted information on the support available to vulnerable households.
Since launch, we have continued to work with mua on an ongoing basis, supporting with maintenance of the WordPress website and providing technical SEO expertise to ensure the site is optimised for search.
As a result, the site has achieved an average site health score of 93.8%, 16.8% above the industry average.
We are incredibly proud to work closely with mua’s in-house team, providing website support and technical SEO management to maximise the site’s performance. By providing a bespoke monthly site report, we can easily identify potential issues and stay on top of required updates. Doing so helps the site perform and stay secure and provides mua with clear visibility of traffic sources and site health.
