Do you have an interest in something but haven’t got the time to crawl the internet? Maybe you would like to know the latest news within your industry. Well here’s the tool for you – Google Alerts.

Google Alerts works by allowing you to enter what you’re interested in, and then each day send you an email containing the latest news stories and other new uploads that match that interest category. It’s a great way to keep up with both your own or your customer’s industries.

How do you do it?

Really simple. Head over to https://www.google.co.uk/alerts - and sign in. If you don’t have a Google account, just make one. When you log in, you will see a dashboard, and the words ‘create an alert about’. This is where you type in your interests.

When you type your interest in, it will come up with a random list of news stories. You need to click the blue button which says, ‘create alert’. Press that, and your alert will be created. As easy as that!

Each day you then will receive an email full of news stories on your chosen alerts.
