Here at Hydra Creative, we have been busy fundraising for a local charity we have worked with for several years now, the Burton Street Foundation.
Burton Street Foundation are a not-for-profit community organisation supporting the local people, based in Hillsborough, Sheffield. They help thousands of individuals each week, offering support to local businesses, the general community and providing disability services. As 2018 marks a milestone for them - their 20th anniversary, the non-profit organisation has decided to mark the occasion by setting a fundraising target of £20,000 to enable them to purchase a Hydrotherapy pool for its users.
We wanted to get involved! In July we hosted our own Design for Donations event which was a great success, raising £500 towards the fundraising target, and we have also created a set of postcards featuring local Sheffield landmarks that will be sold at the Burton Street Foundation to raise even more money and awareness for the Foundation. We look forward to working with the charity in the future and continuing to support a great cause.
When they meet their £20k target, their new hydrotherapy pool will be beneficial in the treatment of some of the different conditions visitors of the Burton Street Foundation suffer from, including arthritis and related rheumatic complaints. Hydrotherapy differs from swimming because it involves special exercises that you do in a warm-water pool. It is something that members of the community have been wanting for years – hydrotherapy can not only improve people's physical health, but also their emotional and mental state, too.
To pick up a set of postcards and see if your favourite Sheffield landmarks feature, drop into the Burton Street Foundation to support their incredible work.
